Road Milling Machine

We supply cold planers and road milling machines to road contractors and highway authorities across South America, in working widths from 500 millimetres to 2.2 metres.

The range covers small milling machines for utility trenching and patch repair, mid-size machines for lane width work, large cold planers for full carriageway rehabilitation, and the picks, holders and drum assemblies they consume.

Picks are the running cost and they are usually underestimated. A milling drum gets through picks continuously, faster on hard aggregate and faster still if the water spray system is not maintained, because unwatered picks overheat and wear several times quicker. Budget for pick consumption per square metre from the outset and keep the spray system working; that one habit changes the economics of owning the machine.

Milled material is worth money. Reclaimed asphalt pavement can be reused in new mixes or as base material, and a contractor who plans to capture and stockpile it recovers part of the milling cost. That needs conveyor and haulage arranged before the job, not after.

Depth control and grade reference decide the quality of the result. Machines with levelling systems working from a ski, a stringline or a laser reference produce a surface the paver can work with; without it the mill simply follows the existing defects.

Highway rehabilitation in Brazil, Chile, Peru and Colombia makes up most demand. Machines ship with manuals, spare pick sets, parts lists and operator training.
