Cutters

We manufacture cutting hand tools in bulk for distributors, contractors, utilities and tender buyers across Africa, quoting by the production run rather than by the piece.

The range covers side cutters and diagonal cutters for electrical work, end cutting nippers, cable cutters from small conductor sizes up to heavy ratchet cutters for armoured cable, bolt cutters in jaw capacities from eight to forty-two inches, tin snips and aviation snips in straight, left and right cut, pipe cutters for copper and steel, glass and tile cutters, and utility knives with replaceable blades.

Edge retention is the whole argument on this product. Jaws are drop forged from carbon or chrome vanadium steel and induction hardened at the cutting edge, so the edge stays keen while the body keeps enough toughness not to crack under leverage. On bolt cutters the jaw hardness and the pivot design decide whether the tool cuts rebar for a season or for a week, and we state both rather than quoting a length and a price. Handles are supplied dipped, moulded or insulated to 1000V where the buyer supplies electricians.

Electrification and construction programmes account for much of what we ship into Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana and Ethiopia. Utility contractors and power distribution projects order cable cutters and insulated tools in quantity against a schedule; building contractors order bolt cutters, snips and knives as consumables that are replaced continuously. Those are different buying patterns, and the packing and pricing follow them: sealed sets with certificates for the first, bulk cartons for the second.

Insulated tools for live electrical work are supplied with the test documentation the specification requires, since a tender for utility supply will normally ask for it and a bid without it is set aside at technical evaluation. For all tender work we prepare manufacturer's authorisation, country of origin declaration and a line by line compliance statement against the bill of quantities.

Private label is standard at volume. Consignments ship FOB or CIF through Lagos, Mombasa, Tema or Durban.
