Allen Keys

We manufacture allen keys in bulk for hardware distributors, workshop suppliers and tender buyers across Africa. Production runs in batches and is quoted by the carton or the container, so this is a wholesale supply line rather than a retail counter.

The range covers short arm and long arm hex keys, ball end keys for working at an angle, T-handle and P-handle drivers, folding sets in metric and imperial, and torx and star variants for equipment that calls for them. Sets run from nine to thirteen pieces in the common sizes and up to twenty-five piece workshop sets. Loose sizes are supplied in bulk for buyers replacing the sizes that wear out first, which in most workshops means the 4, 5 and 6 millimetre keys.

Material is where quality is decided on this product. Keys are cold formed from chrome vanadium steel and through hardened, so the hex corners hold their shape instead of rounding off on the second or third use. Cheap keys fail at the corner, chew the fastener head and cost the customer more than they saved, which is why we quote a stated steel grade and hardness rather than a price alone. Finishes are available in black oxide, nickel plate or chrome, and the choice affects both corrosion resistance and shelf appearance.

Packing is decided by where they will sell. Plastic holders and folding cases suit hardware chains in Kenya, Ghana and South Africa where the product hangs on a rack. Printed blister cards work for retail display, and bulk poly bags or cartons suit workshop supply, vocational training programmes and government tenders where the tools go straight into a store. Private label is standard at volume, with your brand marked on the keys and printed on the packaging.

For tenders and institutional supply we issue the manufacturer's authorisation, a country of origin declaration and a technical compliance statement written against the bill of quantities, with pricing held for the tender validity period. Allen keys ship well in mixed consignments, so a container can carry them alongside spanners, sockets and screwdrivers on one bill of lading, which lowers the landed cost per unit and leaves one set of clearance documents.
