Project buyers work from a bill of quantities rather than a catalogue, and the useful thing a manufacturer can do is price it line by line and say plainly which lines are outside our range. A quotation that silently substitutes a smaller valve or a different pressure class to hold a number costs the contractor more at installation than the saving was worth. Send the bill of quantities and you get it back marked up item by item, with anything we do not make identified rather than swapped.

Documentation requirements vary by project, by insurer and by country, and they should be settled before the order rather than after the container ships. Tell us at enquiry stage exactly which documents your specification requires against each line item and we will confirm in writing what we can provide and what we cannot, so there is no disagreement at inspection.
