Tomato Processing Plants

Tomato Processing Plants

We build and export tomato processing plants to processors, agro-industrial estates and state programmes across Africa, from small paste units through to full concentrate lines.

A complete line runs from reception and washing, through sorting, crushing and preheating, to pulping and refining, evaporation, sterilising and aseptic or can filling. Capacity is specified in tonnes of fresh fruit per hour, and we size from around two tonnes for a regional unit up to thirty tonnes and above for a commercial concentrate plant. Hot break and cold break configurations are both available, and the choice changes the viscosity and colour of the finished paste, so it needs deciding before the line is built rather than after.

Two things decide whether a tomato plant earns money in this region. The first is the season: fruit arrives in a short window and the line has to absorb the peak or the crop is lost, so capacity is sized against harvest volume rather than annual average. The second is Brix. Buyers selling into the West African paste market are usually targeting 28 to 30 per cent, and the evaporator has to be sized and staged for that, not adapted later.

Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, Senegal and Tanzania account for most of our enquiries. Projects are quoted with layout drawings, utility schedules including steam and water demand, installation guidance and commissioning support, plus the tender documentation state-backed schemes require. Contact parts are 316 stainless throughout, given the acidity of the product.
