Primary Treatment Equipment

We manufacture primary processing equipment for abattoirs and export it in bulk and against tender to meat processors, municipal abattoirs, livestock authorities and agriculture ministries across Africa.

The range covers scalding tanks and dehairing machines, singeing and polishing units, carcass splitting saws, overhead rail and hoist systems, evisceration tables and troughs, hide pullers, offal handling equipment, and the stainless platforms, washdown stations and drainage fittings a line needs.

A primary line is laid out around hygiene zoning rather than around the machines. Clean and dirty areas have to be physically separated with no backflow of product, people or water from one to the other, and a line that puts the evisceration station downstream of the chiller entrance will fail inspection however good the equipment is. The layout drawing is the deliverable that matters most, and we produce it before quoting the machines.

Throughput should be set from the peak day, not the annual average. Abattoir demand is seasonal almost everywhere, and a line sized on the average backs up for the weeks that matter commercially.

Water and effluent are usually the binding constraint on an African site rather than power. A line uses a great deal of potable water and produces heavily loaded effluent, and the treatment requirement should be established with the local authority before the equipment is ordered.

Municipal abattoirs and meat processors in Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia account for most demand, quoted with layout drawings, utility schedules and commissioning.
