Other Auxiliary Equipment
We manufacture and supply auxiliary packing line equipment and export it in bulk to food processors, consumer goods manufacturers, pharmaceutical packers and distributors across Africa.
This heading covers the equipment that sits between the main machines on a line: date and batch coders in inkjet, thermal transfer and laser types, labelling machines for wrap-round and top-bottom application, metal detectors and X-ray inspection units, bag and carton openers, air knives and blow-off, dust extraction, rejection gates, and the consumables each uses.
These items decide whether a line can actually ship product. A pack without a legible date code cannot be sold in most markets, so a coder that runs out of ink mid-shift stops the line as surely as a filler failure. They are small purchases that carry disproportionate consequence, which is why they deserve their own spares and consumables plan rather than being bought as an afterthought.
Coder choice follows the substrate. Inkjet suits porous cartons and prints cheaply; thermal transfer gives a crisp code on film; laser marks permanently and costs most. A coder specified for the wrong surface produces a code that smudges off in transit.
Metal detection should sit as late in the line as possible, ideally after the final seal, since contamination introduced after the detector is undetected.
A reject station needs somewhere for rejected packs to go and a count of them. A detector that stops the line instead of diverting the pack is quickly switched off by an operator under pressure.
Processors and manufacturers in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia and Tanzania account for most demand, quoted with a consumables schedule.
