A line of cones tells a driver or a pedestrian where not to go; a bar between them makes that line continuous and far harder to walk through. Retractable bars extend to suit the gap, which sounds convenient and introduces the main failure point. The telescoping joint is where cheap bars fail, usually by seizing after dust and rain get in, and a seized bar is thrown away rather than repaired. Where the bars will live outdoors we would recommend fixed-length over retractable and accept the loss of flexibility.

Clip design has to match your cone top diameter, so cones and bars are best ordered together. Where you already hold cones, send the top diameter and we will match the clip rather than ship a generic one that slips.
