Traffic Defence Barrier

We manufacture perimeter and vehicle control barriers and export them in bulk and against tender to municipalities, port and airport operators, industrial estates and facility managers across Africa.

The range covers crash-rated protective bollards, fixed and removable security posts, guard rail and armco barrier systems, perimeter fencing posts and panels, anti-ram planters, and the foundations, sockets and fixing hardware each system needs.

This category exists because the flexible products elsewhere in this range cannot do this job. A flexible bollard guides a driver who is paying attention; a protective barrier is specified to stop a vehicle that is not. Choosing between them is a question about what happens behind the line — a pedestrian concourse, a fuel installation or a building entrance needs the protective type, and a lane separation does not.

Foundation work is most of the performance and most of the cost. A protective bollard is only as good as the concrete it is set in, and a correctly specified bollard in an inadequate foundation performs no better than a decorative one. We supply the foundation drawing with the order, and we would rather quote fewer bollards properly founded than more of them set shallow.

Spacing is the other half. Gaps have to be narrow enough that a vehicle cannot pass between, while leaving the pedestrian and wheelchair access the site needs.
