Traffic Speed Bumps
We manufacture rubber and plastic speed bumps and export them in bulk and against tender to municipalities, housing programmes, industrial estates, schools authorities and mining sites across Africa.
The range covers modular rubber bumps in 300mm and 500mm sections, plastic bumps for lighter duty, speed humps with a longer and flatter profile, cable-channel bumps that carry cable through the body, end caps, and the bolts, sleeves and reflective inserts they fix with.
Height and profile set the speed, and the common mistake is buying something too aggressive. A 50mm bump with a steep face brings traffic to around 10 kilometres per hour and punishes any vehicle that takes it faster, including ambulances and buses; a 75mm hump with a long profile holds traffic at 25 to 30 and is far kinder to suspension. Tell us the speed you want and the vehicles that use the road, and the profile follows from that.
Modular sections are worth it on anything but the narrowest road. A bump built from 500mm sections can be laid to any width, damaged sections are replaced individually, and the whole thing travels flat-packed rather than as one awkward length.
Fixing into asphalt and into concrete need different anchors, and we supply both rather than one set. Asphalt in hot climates softens enough that a bolt set for concrete works loose within a season, which is the usual reason a bump starts lifting at one end.
Municipalities, estates and mining operations in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia and Uganda account for most demand.
